I have decided to make a start on the welding my zook needs for mot this includes the arch (driver's side) and the chassis mount on the inner arch I know I need to lift the body from the chassis a few inch to get to it, what needs to be undone to achieve this. Cheers

Ermm to lift it a couple of inches off the top of my head, things like steering column at the box end and fuel pipes. when you start going higher you will need to start un plugging electrical connectors, speedo, clucth etc, all depends on how high.

how come a couple of inches? not sure what that will gain you in repairing?

I ended up cutting off more than I had to so the majority of the welds weren't above the chassis outrigger.
You would have to lift the body up a bit to get much more access

This is a screenshot from Darryl Ede's build video, it best explains what I want to do.

I would use some right angle section, cut the whole corner bit out and make a new bit... and make sure its big enough so you can weld it from the other side of the outrigger
I did this bit recently and got fed up so just drilled all the way through and captive welded a new bolt from the top

Mine is shit altogether.... but welding to paper thin SJ bodywork never helps...

I had to do 6 of the 8 body mounts and when i was looking under i soon saw that what i thought was one bit soon turned into 5 or six so took the body off.

the build thread is here, may give you some ideas of how to tackle some of the bits maybe:

undo the steering column and flexy brake line mount on the inner wing below the brake master cylinder, fuel tank filler neck, breather pipe and disconnect wiring for the sender and rear lights, undo all the body mounts and you can lift the rear of the body high enough off the chassis to do it. (pretty sure that's all you need to disconnect)

I've done it multiple times.
