Monroe are a good shock. Quite a lot of people run KYBs.

Easier with the back jacked up on the axle, both wheels off. A bit of WD40 and hour beforehand and just undo the top and bottom bolts and remove old shocks. Compress new ones and slide into position, do up bolts.
The fuel tank side is slightly more awkward if yours has a tank guard fitted.
Good Luck

I like the KYB gas Excel G's (good value and quality, made in Japan)

I generally run KYBs. Usually well priced and seem to last quite well.

I've been running KYB for 10 years on my sj.....they still don't leak even though one has a bent shaft
