Access to prop-shaft grease-nipples.

Post by Jerry Atrick » Thu Jul 16, 2015 10:07 am

I've just had my previously-posted grease-nipple absence sorted out for me but it's clear that some sort of adaptor (grease-gun nozzle to grease-nipple) must be necessary to enable a proper connection when greasing. (See photos - sorry for the poor quality of them.) Has anyone any knowledge of such an adaptor? Thanks.

It's probably just a case of disconnecting one end of the prop so you can move it to an angle where a standard gun fits.

^ that's what I have to do, I also had to replace the original grease nipples with some shorter ones because the longer ones fouled on full articulation.

FYI personally I prefer the sealed type non grease UJs.
Fair enough when they go they go and you can't refill them, but they seem to last longer for me

Thanks Twiss. In my ignorance of matters-mechanical pertaining to the Samurai I hadn't realized that sealed ones could be substituted for greaseable ones.
