So, got a Vitara. New in this whole thing. My car has got a 2" lift. Service book says use 195/15 tyres. My mechanic too. My friends say use bigger, like 215 or 235. Which? Car is used on mixture of road and light off road (fishing/hunting). All terrain? Also where can i buy new tyres with delivery not costing the earth? Thank You in advance. Pls don't write google it, if I could figure out the answer from a search engine I wouldn't ask here.

Unfortunately not too sure on what you can fit on a Vitara but I reckon you could get 235s on it with a 2" lift. Don't take my word for that though as I dont have a vit myself!

Personally I would get some mud tyres if you are buying new ones anyway, just don't get a really aggressive tread pattern if not used heavily off road.

215's will fit with no mods. Get mud tyres. Most tyre companies will deliver with a small courier fee, say a fiver. Mine were delivered free.

215 MTs are a good all round tyre with a 2" lift.

My friend has 30" Maxxis muds on a standard Vitara with no clearance issues.

Hmm. It's got a lift kit somewhere.

I'm looking for some too, can't find those Khumos in 215, they seem to do a 205 then jump to 235.
Maybe worth mentioning OP, find the best online free delivery, but then check best local supplier with fitting and compare. Unless you have mates in the trade I found the dealers don't like fitting tyres they didn't sell - often they flat refuse, or will charge quite a bit. Then there is disposal of old (tips charge generally, mine does). I would guess the true cost adds at least 15 quid a corner - and the local free fit saves a load of hassle.

Anyone who needs tyres put on rims is more than welcome to come and use my manual tyre changing machine.

It can be a bit of a workout sometimes, but it copes just fine with my 31's and Hilux Scottie's 33's and 35's.

If its a good lift kit then it won't have any real effect on the up-travel of the suspension so you don't gain a lot.

on my standard vit I can fit 235/60/16 without issues. and on my GV I have AT's as use mainly on road with some off roading
