Hello,

Well I've got a Kja, a very rotten Kja ! Picked it up yesterday from Newcastle.

The chap I got it off Kevin, was a top bloke. Lovely chap very good to have a deal with him, hope to see him on here soon with another samurai.

So here's the plan, il take the cab and bed off and send them away for blasting possibly acid Dipping depending on cost.

I know there both very bad so I don't expect a lot to come back if I'm honest, but I can't be dealing with rust, it's all got to go.

Whilst there away the plan is to de bracket and clean up my lwb samurai chassis, needs shock towers ect removing and longer ones put on, rear 8274 mount making and stuff. I would have likes to use the Kja chassis but its been rotten in the past and plated up, I'd just rather start a fresh.

Il then repair the cab and bed, won't be a speedy process I can assure you !

Il have to fabricate new bed mounts, ones on the Kja chassis are to far gone.

Once the cab, bed and chassis are done il rip my red car apart and transfer all the parts. I'm literally going to unbolt one bolt it on the other, I know I could start painting axles and rebuilding stuff but I don't want this to drag on for years like it did before !

Pics to follow when I'm out of bed, long day yesterday Newcastle is a long way away from me !

Lets see what we can do !

Mike :)

Sounds like you area with a mission, looking forward to the rebuild, out of interest what advantage will if any the KJA have over your current truck ??? i have been scratcjing my head to try and see what you will gain by doing all this work especially when your current truck is about as perfect as it can be.

Where my truck is on 37 inch tyres, going up hills it start to bounce as the wheelbase is so short, Kja is a bit longer.

Also for challenge events you have to have have stuff like ground anchors and waffle boards ect, the back of my van suzuki is very small. As there's a winch in there too, so that's the other reason.

Also Kja suzukis are pretty cool, but I've not seen one that's completly mad. A bloke built a blue one a while back which was quite nice and used it for challenges, but I've not seen a Kja running 37's. so that's my plan.

Don't get me wrong I love my red van, but I think this project makes more sense than that did. I don't think it will be as hard to do the work as the Kja cab is quite simple. No wheel arches and quarters to worry about.

I will pre warn you for the pics of the filler. Oh my god there's some filler in this car !
