Bought a white Vitara 1995 JLX Soft top.
Cost £250 as 4x4 not working.
MOT till 4th July,
161,000 miles starts 1st time and engine very smooth, been regularly serviced

Bad bits :- found drivers side free wheeling hub U/S (other side OK)
Rust / hole in rear floor pan by seat belt mount.
Rust on arches and door seals not rotted through,
one part on lower passenger side will need a repair patch soon
Rear window zip came away from hood. (sealed with gaffer tape)
Rocker gasket leaking, oil on top of gearbox

Plans (cash depending)

Service, gasket oils etc,
repair rear floor pan,
someone servicing free wheeling hub so might not need a new one.
Remove rubber arch trims, rub down repair spray arches and sills.
Like to remove the hood and make into a 'pickup'
Lift 1.5 - 2" lift (prob use GV springs / shocks)
off road tyres etc.

Then what is needed etc.

Pics will be up in a few days as it stands now without any mods,
what best place to put pics on then link to?
Hoping to have arches trimmed this w/end if not the weekend after.
Chrome bull bar and spots will be up for sale (help fund project)
Going to chat with local metal fabricator regarding repair to back (seat belt mount rot)
and making into a cab :) as rear soft top window is shot.
Seen a defender rear window up for grabs on Ebay that slides open think would look good.
Checking size of window etc. 1st.

You can upload them directly to the forum, but frankly I prefer to host them. I used to use facebook, but they like to deliberately ruin hotlinking every now and then, causing problems - so now I use photobucket. Photobucket encorage hotlinking, even going so far as having a special button just for forums like this one - when you've uploaded a pic, click on the "IMG" button under "share links" to the right of the picture.

It automatically puts the correct codes in your "copy" buffer on your computer, so you just go into the forum, right click, "paste" and you're done.

A video of how to do it I knicked off youtube:

the New vit, at the start of the project.
as tyres were slightly illegal I have fitted the wheels of my GV
As you can see a bit of work to do.
It is road legal MOT till 4th July
Engine runs nicely but needs a service and new rocker gasket.
I have 'fixed' well re-repaired the screen so the rain does not get in as much

It's never fun finding rust, but that's not so bad for a Zuk of that age!
