Odd Questions!

I have a SJ413 and I have a few questions.

1. The Crankshaft Pulley runs out of true. I have not removed it yet to see if the pulley is damaged but do these engines suffer from bad end float ?

2. Are the Dashboard Switches on the right hand side supposed to illuminate when the lights come on ?

3. I am having trouble selecting 4 Wheel Drive High on the drive, Does the vehicle need to be moving to select it ? Any common issues ?

Many Thanks Martin.

as far as question one, I have not heard of these problems before. question 2 I have no clue, and as question 3, pop the transfer box gearlever off, and check if the bust is in place under the gear stick, and check it's condition, this can often give trouble cganging gears

When I had range change problems, it was 4wd warning lamp plunger broken off and jammed in selector track.

The engine shouldn't have a lot of end float, I've seen very slightly out of true pulleys before but nothing worth worrying about, how bad is it?

Depends on the switches. Some do some don't, got a pic of the switches you have?

I'd pull the pulley off and check that the keyway isn't damaged.

On my old 413 the fog light was the only one that lit up. Probably because it's illegal if it doesn't...

My fog light switch lights up, but it's so dim I'm not sure how I passed the MOT, frankly.

I think my MOT guys just like my truck! They asked about it when I went in today to book the Yaris in for it MOT at the end of February.
