1993 Suzuki Samurai
1993 Suzuki Samurai
Hi, this is probably going to be a long old thread. Back in 2004 I bought a 85 SJ413 which had been sat in a field for some years. I welded it up and got it MOT'd. She then went to work laning and basically having fun.
A while later my mates who had Sj's sold them, so I was thinking of selling. At the time Dad was using it from time to time, and when I mentioned I was thinking of getting rid, he said he would pay for the tax, insurance, mot etc and keep it himself. So I let him keep hold of it. Over the years we have replaced loads of parts and done loads of welding. 10 years later its still on the road and being used by Dad.
Fast forward to 2010 and different mates got into offroading, now I decided I wanted another SJ, so bought a Samurai.
Now I bought it blind of ebay, and got it home. At first the plan was to bodge it up and drive it. As I looked it over I got the idea that if I was going to do it then I wanted to do it well and not have to worry about Rust for a long while, so decided I would take the body off.
Then started work cutting rust out of the body
Xmas day 2010 came and father in laws workshop got broken into, pretty much robbed us of every tool in there £1000's worth This put a major downer on the project and it sat for a long time

So with the body off the chassis was cleaned and painted
Then Father in law moved to a farm with a workshop so I started on the body again
Cut the sills out and welded in box section with built in sliders

I cant believe this was 4 years ago!!
So since 2014 I lost the use of a workshop so it sat for a while in a barn with no electric, or lighting.. Daughter was also born in 2014, renovated my house, then sold it in 2016, moved house etc...
I now have a garage so Sammi has come home! Only a single garage so space is a bit tight.
Anyway as it now stands:
235 70 16 Special Tracks on LWB Grand Vitara Rims.
RS2000 Recaros
Kawasaki Green Paint
