Had success with my engine folks !!! 
Had it fired up for a split second after pouring some fuel down the carb. Turns out there wasn't any fuel getting to the carb. This wasn't the case before as was getting backfiring but the timing was wrong. Between that point and now, the timing has been set up properly but for some reason something at the fuel end has failed. At least I'm getting some where
