Can anybody tell me what engine oil is recommended in the UK?
The manual states 10w30 but my local spares shop says 5w30 according to his guides and they dont keep 10w30.
(5w30 full synth would be good as I have a can in the garage)
TIA, Grego

Welcome to the club.
I have a Grand Vitara 1600 which the manual says 10w/30 preferred.
But it has always had 10w/40 fitted buy suzuki dealers and myself.
Personally I use GTX Magnatec.

10/30 is the recommended oil but there would be no problem running a 5W/40, it is still within the specifications in the FSM, the 5W/40 gives a wider temperature range but it is unnecessary in the UK.

Thanks for the replies , sounds like 10w40 may be best option
