Beloved SJ413 needs a good home

I tried to email the following message to the administrator's email address but it was returned as "unsent". So in order to try to get this message on the forum I registered but have discovered that new members have to have posted a minimum twenty time before being allowed to post in the For Sale section. I will try this route before calling the scrapyard, which would be such a great pity.

Dear Admin,

My wife and I have enjoyed our SJ but its time to let her go to a new home to be properly cared for (that's the SJ, not the wife).

She was MOT'd until recently and used daily until January 2014 but now needs either work on the carb or a replacement carb. She also has the usual vibration issues which we have been told might be bearings.

We need to remove her from the drive, later this week if possible, to make space for our new car and, with a heavy heart, were about to ring the scap dealers when I remembered your site and wondered if there might a member willing to pay a token amount to take her off our hands? I think she could form the basis of a new mod project for an enthusiast or, at worst, for original spares, but there's life in her yet, she just needs some TLC and someone that knows what they are doing.

We never became members of your site but used to visit fairly frequently to check out the forums and to enjoy the pics.

Here are a few pics of the car in question which were taken 6 July 2013 when she was our main little run-around. On this occasion we took her gently off-road for a champagne picnic:-)) She's a bit mildewed now after being parked on the drive since January but she was like that before her last MOT which was late spring 2013 which she go through without any great expense. She cleans up nicely in other words.

Please let us know, even if you don't think any of your members would be interested, as we'd much rather she was given a new lease of life rather than scrapped.
