Just thought I'd let you all know I have a new job! At the moment I work for corus and my site is looking pretty shaky, We have targets to meet by christmas and if we dont make them the place is going to close. Ive worked their since I left the training center in january 05 and Completed my apprenticeship with them, things have been bad since january this year, we have had cut backs with 'no overtime' and with people being made redunadant (so far only Voluntarys)
So over the last few months I have kept my eyes out for other jobs, tuesday i was invited to an interview at a fairly local power station run by edf, I had an interview and i was offfered the job! As far as i can see I have no choice but to swap jobs, the new job role is similar to my old one, the money is better and the future is more secure, the only disadvantage being the 25mile commute (currently I have a 2mile run!)
I'll be sad to leave the company as I do enjoy my job but i Just cant let the oppertunity pass me by, also, I will be the benificiary of a certain amount of redundancy money that will help me pay for my wedding in November, repairs to the sj, a yamaha rd200 and probably a 1.3litre suzuki swift to get me to work every day!
