Suggestions on sorting this out...

The Yaris that some of you have seen me in is my mums. She's a disabled little old lady.

I bought her a holiday to Romania (she's very interested in their culture and she's learning the language, and she's got friends out there to stay with) and after dropping her off in Luton, parked up her car outside her house.

Then this:

To the asshat that did it and ran: Thanks. You're a wonderful human being, mashing up a little old disabled pensioner's car and then running away like a true hero.

To the rest of you - I have 2 weeks before she's back (12th) so should I sand it, fill it, sculpt it, then find someone to paint match or should I find a crashed damaged Yaris, cut that out and cut out a similar piece, weld in new metal, then have that paint matched?

The bumper is also a bit mangled, but I think I can sort that out with fibreglass from the inside out.

I'll tell her about it when she gets back, but I'm not going to ruin her holiday. This is the first holiday she's had in about 20 years. I want this sorted out before she returns, get it in a state where she'd never know, *then* tell her (I'm not into keeping secrets from her about her own car!).

I'm thinking of getting a new bit of metal to weld in because I'm not sure I can get the wheel arch's stock toyota "crease" to look factory with filler.

What would you lot do?

Hell no! First, not my car, so they won't let me make a claim. Second, they'll take aaaages, you know they will. Third, not loosing the no-claims, it'll cost much, much more in the long run.

Wish I could bud, but as it was a hit-and-run asshat, I can't claim on his(her?) insurance.

Yeah, dropbox was being an arse. Initially, the photos weren't showing, I had to fartarse around to get them showing. If you refresh the thread, they should appear?

If not, yell at me again please mate.

The damage is relatively minor. Might go for a replacement bumper but the arch/wing I think the sand, fill, shape and paint makes the most sense.

Did that last time, and all that happened was I started getting phonecalls from people telling me I could sue the other driver if I pretended to have whiplash.

But the last time was a hit and run too, so thanks Mr Policeman for selling my details, but who do I sue?

That's already a replacement bumper, after some asshat rear-ended me in it at 2am a few months ago, then drove off!

IN THE SAME FREAKING ROAD!!! Seriously, 250 yards up the same road. This thing has done 70,000 trouble free miles, but gets smashed in the same road twice in about 6 months.

Quite depressing.
