if you have a meter check you have 12 volts across the horn when the button is pressed, if you do the horn is gone, if you dont check you have a good earth.

can also just test your horn with two wires to either side of a battery, what car is this for anyway? probably should have asked that first!

Aren't horns permanent live, switched earth - for safety reasons? Something about not wanting live going through the steering wheel in case it causes a fire?

Check earth on the steering column - this had be fooled for ages - in the end I used a wire on the column secured either side of the joint (near master cyl in engine bay) works brill now.
