1.5 diesel peugeot engine conversion

hi well first im new so hello everybody but not new to suzuki's got a sad looking sj to restore when i was 16 and used it as my first car dont know why anyone would want anything els i mean as my mates used to say its slow but who cares u cant follow me ! her she is when i rescued her from being scrapped.

1.6 8v coversion
anyway on with the conversion looking sad sat in the drive

thought id get the front off easier for when i have to make engine mounts an so on
donor vehicle for 1.5 Peugeot engine

thats as far as its got for now gotta wait till clutch plate comes to go any further as mines knackered im gona use pug flywheel and spring plate with sj clutch plate (how iv read its done) just have to get the clutch plate machined a bit to fit in the pug flywheel
then mating the box to the engine from what iv seen the 1.6 conversion plate thats already on my box should work in my favor with a bit of side ways drilling :thumbup:

the only thing i am worried about is getting the spring plate to fit on here

i spose i will have to get that machined to ? any help would be great have to say thats all for now i will keep u updated

hi sorry i havent updated sooner be so busy got the gearbox mated to the engine with a bit of side ways drilling and welding oh and had the flywheel machined to fit the sj clutch plate here is a few pics

thought i better mention that thats not fully welded
as for the starter was very easy top bolt lined straight up and just drilled through the webing in the bottom of the starter
one problem opps jack up time

so gona do a coil conversion nothing serious like i have seen but should be a lot better on the road and bring it up will see how it goes gona use original vitara 1.6 springs to start with went and got a few bits to help off various vitara/ sj spares i had layng around and a bit of tubing i managed to blag

in the middle of doing the front coil suspension will get back to u soon. anyway whos me mate down at jayar got a few springs for ya to look at.

Just a word of warning, technically this will need to be IVA tested once converted to coils, VOSA are clamping down.
