sticking throttle and stiff throttle cable

hello I was driving my sj down the road today after doing the ignition timing and trying to pick up speed and the throttle is really stiff to press down? and also it tends to stick a little bit around 2500 rpm any idears?

I would feel what the throttle arm on the carb feels like.... if it doesn't stick when you do it by hand you know its not the cable or pedal

If its the pedal WD-40 helps

If its the throttle arm itself use carb cleaner on it
