the bore as in the size of hole where it bolts to manifold?
2 samurais. 1 vit and now a vit commercial :)

Yeah, the diameter of the hole on the manifold side of the carb.

he said it was around 38mm so left it :( but found another now :)

38mm would be a HIF38 suitable for a 410.

can i ask what sort of price people paid for their SU carbs, there are a couple on ebay, this one in particular but not sure what i should be expecting to pay for one.

£20 for one £90 for the other 2. Expect to pay £50 to £100 i would say.

Well got myself a hif 44 and needle and spring sorted and this is such a good thread I know where pipes will go,all I need now is a elbow to fit it to manifold ,I take it this will go on existing manifold :). Silly question I exspect but anyway have a spare elbow ? :bawling:

Yeah just cut the two holes into one oval.

I had an adapter but once I actually learnt to weld it was too embarrassing even sat on the bench rusting so I binned it!

Right just q quick queistion my.mate has a 1.6 vitara engine in a 410 and it had a standard carb and it ran sweet as a nut but it has started to die on him so he has bought a Su carb and he has sent the manafold away and they have blanked the top off and made a hole in the side e.g bassicly a rockwatt manafold and he has bolted it on and some how it doesn't like low revs it starts fine and.revs fine but as soon as u let go of the throttle it dies any suggestions or pics please
