Had a real head scratcher today. I know where the fuel pump goes, but for some reason the fuel pipe from the carbs to the pump isn't long enough. It's not possible, I hadn't even taken it off but it was short by a good 6 inches. Checked all the old pics and there it is on the frame, so how come the pipe has shrunk??

So I bought some new pipe and a new filter and plonked it all together.

I tell you I am well and truly baffled how this has happened!

Anyway it's done now and the wiring loom is on (most of it) as are the lights and clocks.

Got all of the loom connected, so I turned the ignition on to check the lights. They all work except for high beam and I have no idiot lights. Hmm. You can't tell in the pic but the clock lights work apart from the temp gauge. Another hmm. Think I'll get a mate over with his electronic gubbins and sort it out. And yes I checked the bulbs...

On the plus side I charged the battery overnight (thankfully my charger can switch between car and bike) and it's a good 'un!

Well I had a blonde moment the other day. Put the bike in neutral and 'ping' up pops the neutral light on the idiot bar. Indicators are now working, and they are too on the idiot lights. High beam does work, but only if I press the pass switch, so that needs looking at.

Pretty tricky trying to get a pic of the indicators but it worked :hahaha:

One fork seal done, one to go...it's a bugger of a job. Thankfully the fork internals were in pretty good shape.

More shiny bits! Forks should be done now, need to go get them. When she's finally on two wheels I can get the exhaust on and fire her up!

Front wheel is finished, the discs are on now. And the final front caliper is pretty much finished. Amazing what brake cleaner and a dish washer can do :hahaha:

FORKS ARE ON! A major step to being on her own two feet again. Wheel is on, clip ons too.

Finally she's on her own two feet. A few pics then I got the exhaust back on, shearing one of the studs along the way, no biggie I can probably make one up.

Just so happy to see her looking more like a bike again rather than a collection of parts!

Many thanks Kiwi, going to plonk the tank and seat on and go get an MOT, then worry about fixing all the bodywork. I hope this heat wave lasts a few more days so I can go out and play!
