Cheers guys.
What are peoples views on running a rad in the bed?
I will be using an Astra rad and electric fan, and a VAG header tank if I do the conversion.
I will run two lengths of steel pipe from front to back, undercarriage. A bit like on the MGF. Then use elbow joins to come up into the engine bay, and up through the bed, and into the rad.
I also want to stack the exhaust up behind the cab too.

Its definitely possible but I'm not too keep on the idea of my coolant pipes running under the car...
Sods law would mean it gets detroyed somehow

If they're steel, and tucked up against the body, it'll be way up out of the way, higher than props, diffs, T-box etc. I think it'll be okay.
How good are they for cooling though? Would it be wise to stick an aux water pump inline, like the 16v Clio has?

Well it won't get the airflow of a front mounted rad at speed, but with the fan on there it should be OK cooling wise? Might be worth putting twin fans on in case one packs up.
Personally I would probably have 2 fans, connect one to start at 80ish degrees, then the other to switch on along with the inline pump at 90ish degrees.
Green light on the dash for the first fan, red light for the second

Just having a quick snoop around ebay... maybe a freelander rad might work? Quite cheap!

I will have a poke around in the compound at work tomorrow. We currently have about 160 cars and 4x4s on the racking.
I just want everything up out of the way, Fed up of getting the rad chocked up with mud and getting hot. My Sportrak was a nightmare for doing that!

I thought about a rear rad, but a bit of steel (a computer case) in front of the rad while mudding keeps it remarkably mud free.
Fairly sure a bit of cardboard would work just as well. My temps keep stable too.

Picked up an ally bumper yesterday.
Need to find a winch that fits inside it now.
