I still don't trust that was a fair test? How cn you be sure?

To believe it I'd want to be stood in the room.

Anyway lock rites are the best choice so buy them :)

I "kinda" believe that test. I say kinda, because ARB ran the test - it'd be great to see independent testing.

Still, I have to admit, the results didn't surprise me that much.

Also, a chinasoong locker getting to 6500ft/lb - yes, but which one? Hilux? Navara? Unimog?

Would one designed for our axles stand up to as much???

so the arb breaks the shaft at 6700ftlb, and the chinese locker breaks at 6400ftlb. not a big difference. this is so close, it could be a fluke, you'll need more testing to prove their point. and then anton's point still stands. can a suzuki deliver the power to do this damage?

How are lockrites the best choice? They are not selectable and kill your turning circle.

I'd happily run a set if chinasoong lockers from all the reviews if read from people who are actually running them! Don't think I've seen a reported breakage yet apart from a few air leaking issues but that can happen with ARBs as well.

I must admit I like the idea of Lockrites. I reckon if you wanted to build a drift racer out of an SJ they'd be perfect.......but that's a LOOOOOONG way off yet.

I intend on fitting chinasoonge on my next sj the writ ups av seen on them never read of anyone breaking one
And if the suzuki ones are as stron as the hilux ones then there woild be no issues on a sj cos lets face it ya never gunna break a hilux axle with a sj and the chinasoonge arnt much weaker than a hilux axle

And that axle that had been tested could have had a weakspot and gave up befor it should have done

For that you'd be better off with a spool or welded diff, much more predictable.

Hmm I prefer a switchable locker. As you have mich more control over it compare to a lockrite.

I think I'd like lockrites if you could adjust them to bite where you want them to

I'd prefer air lockers as you can deactivate them when you want, but for the massive price difference, if it will stop you getting stuck... there you go!
