Re: Mikes lwb build and repairs !
So then, few problems when fitting portals lol
The brakes are far to big and heavy and land rover, yuk.
So I’ve binned them.
New plan use suzuki callipers a mk1 hilux Brake discs, much better.
So got to make that work, and then there is the steering……
So Volvo are really odd as the steering arms are cranked to clear the portal boxes, so I have a track bar that been modded to have a land rover (yuk) track rod end fitted to go up to steering box. So I’ve used my spare hi steer kit to do that job.
But, these axles where going on a truck to compete at the lagoda trophy in Russia, so everything was beefy, so they drilled the portal box tack rod hole out to m22 ! Probs for hydro, I don’t want that.
So there is a few issues
The props are cruiser to land rover wolf, il show pics of how that was done pretty slick my mate Kimi did them, he’s from Finland and builds insane trucks, top guy too loves herring

Re: Mikes lwb build and repairs !
The front prop has to be small to clear crossmember
So landcruiser 100 series, which was handy as I’m breaking one.
The land rover wide angle prop was turned down like 0.3mm to go inside the landcruiser prop.

Looks good Mike. He makes stuff look so easy at times does James, that man certainly knows how to build a 4x4.
