There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Awesome I love wheel loaders / shovels, fantastic bits of kit, when i worked at the steelworks we had a few, they were great all round useful mobile plant, we would use them to lift& rerail derailed scrap transfer cars. It was always good to see them lift the rear wheels! I always wanted to drive one, that & a kress! When I was an apprentice I had a stint in the mobile plant workshop, my first job was to grease the pivot points on the slagpot kress. Me being keen climbed up and greased them all, when I got down I was absolutely filthy. Later I was to learn that these pivot points only got greased when they had someone new in the department!

Image
Not the kress I worked on (ours were for slagpots not ladels so the back was smaller) but you get the idea the front wheels are taller than me! They had gear reduction inside the wheels, they also had something like 14 gears but had to have the top 7 blanked as the drivers were taking them too fast!
