not sure the electronic ignition is even working though, it says in the instructions that it is supposed to pulse, so it is meant to light up the LED everytime it fires, so the LED is supposed to flash when the engine is running and get faster as the revs go higher, but the led it perminently on...

think ill be buying the kit off ebay as it comes with a new coil, as you can see my coil looks a right state so it could possibly help anyway...

To be honest it would flash so many times a second, I doubt if you could see it go off. Even at tick-over..

the carb needs a proper tune up, ill be driving ti to work tomorrow night so well see how she goes, think the timing is out a bit aswel so need a timing light and ill do the points aswel, then ill pay someone to tune her up as i dont have a gas anyliser, that is true, it does seem to pulse slightly on tick over..

Gas analayser? Timing light?

I just did mine by site and sound.

I have a timing light, might set mone with it one day. Mine does 65mph easy and has CO2 of 0.18 so probably best i leave it for now.

ive had a go at doing it from listening to it and i just cant seem to get it spot on, cant get it to run as smooth as it has done before with the old carb, but the old carb was knackered, its running to strong, it has a very strong smell of petrol, and my emissions was too high on its mot last year so need to get the emissions right for october..

The light on the ignition box is supposed to let you set the static timing without a light. If you turn the engine over by hand does the light turn on and off? I don't see how it could run if the light isn't flashing, are you sure that its wired up correctly? Its many yers since I ran something like this but as a rough guide you should be able to see an LED flicker at any frequency below 200Hz, at 1000 RPM you will get 2000 pulses/min which would be 33Hz.
You should be able to get the carburetion very close to ideal adjusting it by ear.
