masked taped it all up and cut all the un wanted bits of using a very sharp craft knife and then spayed it with plasticote

Next job on the side is to make up some new rear quarter trims
I found some hardboard from the back of my old wardrobe, should work a treat
Not brilliant pics but I removed the old vinyl to reveal the old hardboard then drew round it as a template.
Ultimately I want to fit these speakers in and find a way to neatly run the wires through to the front. It's actually a component set so il need 2 holes for the tweeter as well
That's pretty much where I'm at at the moment. I need firstly a jigsaw to cut out the template, files to clean up the edges, vinyl or similar leatherette material for the trim and skill in doing it neatly.
Suggestions or comments welcome

ive got to say i love this sammy
i like a full on modded zook, but they look great near standard.

As winter is just around the corner I need to make sure the SJ continues to carry its reputation for been excellent reliable, unstoppable transport.
Over the next few weeks I have a little list of maintenance jobs to do. So today I changed all the transmission & diff oils, thanks going out to Scotty for the information on correct oil
Iv no pictures to prove it as my hands were too covered in gear oil to use my camera, but it definitely happened trust me. 80w90 GL5 all round, the old oil looked quite clean actually I was surprised. Although the sump drain plugs had a slight build up of swarf to remove. I also flushed it through a bit with the oil until it ran clear.
Also on the list is;
Diff breathers
Timing belt, valve clearances, check & replace pulleys
Dizzy cap, rotor arm & ignition timing
Fit weber carb, with manual choke & full set of new vac lines and a fuel filter

Few hours after work and got the weber fitted and running.
Original over complicated carb
Removed
Weber adaptor plate fitted
So simple, all them vac pipes and springs and diaphragms gone. Feels much better
Choke cable fits quite nearly in the dash
And through the spare grommet
Just setting it up, I couldn't join the air box and carb plenum with the standard pipe so I made an extension by cutting a CV boot down and using that to join them. Just temporary.
Seems to run ok it's a bit fiddly using the choke but I suppose il have to learn to use it properly.
All the old vac lines from the manifold have been blanked off. Not sure what they do exactly can anyone tell me? The green plug bottom right. Seems like a solenoid or change over valve but its never had any pipes running off it. There's another unit that's attached to the manifold to the left of it which is no longer in use?

Fitted a new fuel filter
