Ok so i picked the welder up tonight.
It's a cebora revolution turbo 120a, think its got 0.8 wire which is rusty so will need to get some new 0.6 wire.
There is a small gas bottle with it, but my mates dad doesn't think it will last long so I will need to get some. I think I will just get a small one because I will be only doing the boot.
Also got the snipped wires sorted so I have rear lights again :)

just a quick word of warning . those small disposable gas bottles dont last very long at all.

they really do suck

try and keep the wind away if you going to be doing it outside.

yea a regulator would be needed to run a bigger gas bottle.

the small ones will do the job but they dont last to long so keep the gas down low or buy two bottles when you go.

try to make a wind break if you welding outside so the gas doesnt get blown away whilst your welding.

I've found those little gas bottles hardly last 30mins. but you're looking at £40odd for a regulator and at least £65-80+ for 10l of rent free gas and that will last ages so it might be worth talking to the person who's mig it is to see if they want to chip in, will be cheaper fro them in the long run if they use the mig a lot.

oh and I've had no luck finding that badge yet but i know I have one somewhere!

Ah that could be problematic because i want to spend some time practicing before i attack the Zook! lol

Unfortunately i can pretty much guarantee that he wont want to chip in, he said he hasnt used it for 6 years....lol

In that case

try to buy the mig off him ;) buy a decent size bottle of gas. learn to weld and then enjoy the endless possibilities of being able to stick bits of metal together in various shapes and forms

Yesterday I discovered something! I can't weld! Lol
Well I say I can weld, I did some nice practice runs, had a go at joining some bits together etc which went ok....those disposable gas bottles are as people have said a waste of time!
I went through 2 and barely did any welding.....
Having said that after the first one ran out I discovered a leak in the gas feed pipe....
I think I'm going to end up taking it somewhere to get sorted :( I just want her back on the road now I'm missing her!
