Are you running side lights in the headlights?

I run the full amber lenses (I like marker lights) but my sami
Failed the mot on these today. So I've swapped
Back to standard lenses for the retest Just a word
Of warning incase you Don't have spares to swap over.

Standard looks better I think. Did it pass OK after you changed them Andy?

Why would it fail on them? Are marker lights illegal on the front then? Or are they only legal on an HGV or something?

MOT manual

Two front position lamps must be fitted, one on each side and show a steady white light to the front (or yellow if incorporated in a yellow headlamp)

e.
show light of the correct colour
Note: Some front position lamps have a blue tinge to the light. This is acceptable provided the light is predominantly white.

Reason for failure
e.
shows a light other than red to the rear and white to the front (or yellow if a front position lamp is incorporated in a yellow headlamp)

Amber isn't legal for position lamps on a car, only indicators should be amber.
