The good news is the brakes are all sorted and ready for the weekend.

The bad news is I spotted 2 hairline cracks in one of the rear spring perches.

God knows why it has cracked where it has as the u-bolts take all the tensile strain and that part is only under compression.

Its the same on the other part of the same perch.

So it looks like the welder will be out tomorrow night or Friday morning before Jordi and Twiss arive.

That should be a fairly simple fix, but perhaps you could consider beefing them up a tad - it's a bit worrying that they cracked like that in the first place!
1985 SJ413VX (SJ50V) with SPOA, rear disc brakes, 31x10.5R15 Kaiman Malatesta tyres, an MOT and a lot left to do!

1.6 and a heavy right foot. Will just make them safe untill I remake them when the YJs go on.

Hmm interesting where they have cracked gunna check mine as well i think , luckily you spotted or things might of ended nasty! :shock:
