I'm confused (not difficult I know ), but if the earth strap has shorted to earth

Where did you find those pics Darrell? Was it a rebuild guide?
Just went "Googling" to see what size seals went in the power steering unit and tried "Rebuild".
There is no write up's that I could find
The diagram is just from a vit manual I have on the PC.

No worries, glad that's helped, had a feeling it might
Right I have 4 spare steering boxes but its quite hard to tell if which ones leak as they haven't been used for ages, as for the oil seals they both look easy enough to change or you could just fill it with grease instead of gear oil as so many people do
