Vit Radiator into SJ
Re: Vit Radiator into SJ
Mine's spot on I think, my fans very rarely kick in, it's only when i'm moving really slow off road or sat stationary that a fan will kick in, the second (emergency) fan has never kicked in yet
Set up with a thermo switch in the bottom hose
1st fan on the inlet and outlet side of rad turns on at 88C and turns off again at 83C, 2nd fan turns on a 92C and turns off again at 87C
They are also wired so that I can turn one on manually or have them both off for wading.

Nice idea Scottie - I have std Rad and a leccy fan but seem to run really warm.
Must check what temp it cuts in/out at ..... Jug of water??
Am getting a 1600 8V with a new 16v rad as it gets so hot here in the summer and off road crawling in August makes me nervous and I am always watching the temp gauge aprehensively

Possability Tom - sincere apologies Scottie we have wandered off the initial point behind the thread.

It's all about cooling at the end of the day, I think you'll be fine with a 1.6 as long as you are using the vit rad, I presume vitara's don't have any cooling issues over in Cyprus?

Re: Vit Radiator into
Going to fit a 1.6 rad to my 410 also going to bolt on a electric fan if I mount it on the back of the radiator like everyone else's which way will my fan need to spin ? As I have a fan that can suck air and also blow air thanks I was thinking it would need to suck the cold air through the radiator if it's on the back of the rad ?

Re: Vit Radiator into SJ
It depends which way around the blades are on the fan... some of them you can flip them around and connect the wires backwards to reverse the flow
Sucking cold air through from the back is best in my opinion because the fan motor is more protected from the mud on the engine side of the rad
Whatever you do don't use the mounting things that go through the radiator fins, then will just damage the fins! Make brackets if you have to
