Sorry to hear that, might it be worth fitting a gb16 engine instead of the 1.3, I think you can get adaptor plates for the jimmy gearbox?

Yeah I looked into it, it's not a straight swapplication, lots of different mods and much more money that a G13bb engine, not to mention how much more the insurance company wanted!

Some of the insurance and driving regs may be stupid here, but you can put whatever engine in you want and the insurance doesn't change!
I said I had put a 1.6 in mine and they said it doesn't matter!

I'm currently with Admiral, and they wanted another £600 to change the engine size for Insurance, along with charges with DVLA, the potential for DVLA wanting it for inspection I decided to go for a straight 1.3 swap, 43k, looks in good conditon. Still waiting to hear back from the bloke who's doing it for me, but i'm waiting on a clutch kit, that the company fucked up the address and had it sent to a neighbours house.......

Drove past the Jimny yesterday and it's looking very high at the moment, maybe it's just because it has chunky tyres on the front, or it's missing an engine!

why on earth are you with admiral....you'll get cheaper rates on a specialist insurance surely?

never know dvla to check an engine swap, it's the easiest process ever.

When you pull the old engine out I might be interested in the flywheel

I'll let you know.... that's if it ever gets done. Getting pissed off as there's a bloke that is pulling the engine out down the scrapyard and bolting it into mine, and leaving the old engine in the boot..... 3weeks as he hasn't even started
