Ahh makes sense, if mine failed I'd do exactly the same! Tbh the light switch will be the culprit, take the door strap off then open it up so you can get in the hinge and remove the switch, clean the contacts with some emery paper and it will be fixed, my only other advice is do it before it's crushed, I imagine getting to the switch whilst the cars a cube might make the job a lot harder

Strange, mine has decided to start working afters several years of not working.

Nothing much going on but I thought folks might be pleased to hear that my SJ sailed through its MOT yesterday. Adjusted the carb a bit with the emissions tester in before they tested it. Went from 7.5% CO and about 700ppm of unburnt fuel to 1.6% CO and 195ppm (pass is less than 3.5% CO and 1200ppm).

What I have noticed is that as a result of the carb tuning then engine runs on a little bit sometimes when I turn off the ignition. I've got it sucking warm air because of the cold weather so I reckon that it's probably that plus it being relatively well tuned that is making it run on.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

tune the engine back to how you like it, just keep note of the adjustment you make for MOT time ;)

Running on is usually a timing problem but it could be that you're running too lean.
