No mate, I hard wired it into one of the afm wires, that goes to a suppressor so it reads in a sj rev gauge.

Sorry i think I came across wrong I meant the vehicle speed sensor which is effectively a reed switch mounted against the back of the rev counter. I think it supplies the ecu with a speed reading for it to make adjustments to fueling e,t,c. But I suppose you wouldnt need it being off road only anyway. Yeah for my rev counter I connected the sj rev counter supply (brown wire) to pin 8 of the smaller ecu plug (also a brown wire) which in turn feeds pin 3 of the noise suppressor

Thanks gaz

Ow sorry !!

I thought you meant revs !!

Erm no my speedo doesn't work, never really thought about it, I presumed just through a speedo cable in it lol? You can do it without a cable?! Don't do electrics as is but if its simple ill give it a whirl !!

Yeh that's pretty much how I done it, can't remember the wire colour but yeh something like that :)

Well I still run a standard speedo cable from the transfer box the vss is mainly I think for fueling and economy some of the guys in the US run with it some without, some say it runs better some say it makes no difference I will try and connect it up see if it makes a difference. i wonder if the later efi samurai has the vss already built into the instrument cluster like the vitaras have perhaps you could shed some light on this with the one your breaking but it will mean taking the cluster apart

Thanks gaz

I have nicked the cluster for mine,

Il have a look. I remember this vss subject now, no mines not connected, mines ok. Doesn't come up with any codes when you scan it so It can't make that much difference.

I am going to shot blast the wheels, paint them two pack black, then have the outer beadlocks in red? What do you reckon?

Or just all black?

I hope my parts turn up from America soon, want to get on with making the back flex, I am going to use it at Boxgrove this Sunday, then Slindon at the end of the month, just need to fit the new springs. Then I am going to mod it with all the beadlocks, and missing links, axle trusses and stuff. Paint all the axles and under the arches again, and repair the wing too.

Still need repair my winch too !! :)
