I run my tyres on my everyday car at 38 psi, no uneven wear, and not the slightest uncomfortable

A mate has an air portable Lawn Mower...fantastic bit of kit. (the air bit, not the car)

I run 30psi everywhere, never had problems.

Most good air tools need massive amounts of air per minute for them to run at full potential. I have a small 240v comp in the garage with a 30litre tank, windy gun and my die grinders empty that in no time. Then I have to wait for the thing to charge up again. Think you'd be doing more waiting than using of your air tools. Better off with a big breaker bar and a good set of sockets.
I know people fit 12v comps with tanks or seal up their rock sliders and use them as tanks so that they have a blast of air for seating tyres back onto the rim or for running huge truck air horns which I think is probably most important!!! BWWWWAAAAPPPP!!!!

i have to agree with the above
air tools require more air than any little compressor can give, air drill approx 3-4 cfm, these 240v ones on ebay for running air nailers are only 2.5cfm and a grinder or air wrench will need at least 9cfm with a 24+ litre tank.
the only thing these little under bonnet ones are good for is tyre inflation and locking diff actuators.

Thats great man thanks! Its going to be a January purchase now i think, bloody Christmas and all its gift giving rinses you. Why cant we do away with presents and focus on the true meaning of Christmas, its a time of year we get to think about, and if we're lucky meet, all that Mr Hanky has done for us.

Ive been looking at a big compressor for the garage... want at least 14CFM just in case I ever need an air chisel for something!!!

I have a small compressor in the garage that blows up my tyres and runs a paint sprayer, next car boot going to try and pick up a windy gun and the such like to see if it will manage them. Coz of its size it doesnt hold much pressure so needs to be running all the time, noise gets a bit annoying some times!
