had a play with it again today and cut the coil springs down by 1 more coil.
they can now just be compressed far enough to get them in place by hand.
the articulation is better now,one side drops to the full extent that the leaf will let it and the other compresses so the leaf is flat which i think is about right.

What a dog  that "cage" I use the term very loosely looks like it would kill you in a roll over

Good base for a buggy though, rip that body off ;)

you cant see the best part of the "cage"
it doesnt go to the floor at the front,it its mounted ontop of the scuttle just infront of the windscreen lol
i can confirm that the body is being scrapped lol

Have you had a little drive to see how the ride is with the spring in?

no theres no brakes on it atm as we had to disconnect the lines for the spoa
but since its off road only the ride quality isnt really a problem

Are my eyes working correctly? Is the "cage" just gaffa taped to to the original windscreed behind the rear/front door.

been doing some work on the front today but forgot to take any photos.
got the axle off today and have fabricated and welded the blocks for the spoa conversion, also have cut, extended and welded the steering arm ready to bend into a z bar to clear the leafs.

finally got round to finishing off the front axle spoa conversion
also testing on the spring with the extra weight of the engine and the articulation doesnt seem too bad.
still got a bit to do on the suspension but its coming together slowly
still need to finish the steering arm and modify and replace the brake hoses to compensate for the new height.
got a new waterpump and started stripping the radiator and pullys off to get to it
its not an easy thing to swap but it shouldnt take too long to sort out.
