The black box is probably something to do with some previous towbar electrics, just cut it off
I think you might struggle to find a good fuel tank guard? I just repaired mine with some 3mm sheet metal using the original frame work to get rid of the flimsy old bent and rusty guard.

i might have a fuel tank guard underneath that white sj of mine but it might be toast like the rest of it is

Could you have a look please. Mine is completely broken the tubular piece is snapped i remember hearing it go in april sometime
What if i cut the box off and i lose all power to the lights? It might be wired in series???

The box isn't part of the original loom so it should be fine, I would imagine its just spliced into the original loom in parallel and not in series?

I think I've got a spare one of those light guards as well. Shame as they don't fit on my bumper!!!

ScottieJ- are the fronts you have the same as the rear?
