gotta love cardboard mock ups.. made the steel version out of 3 pieces never knew i could produce such a work of art with a hammer mole grips and a grinder :hahaha:

thought i was almost done when a mate stopped by to see how i was doing and poked his finger through here ffs!

Image

still its all done and back on the chassis now and the studs even lined up in the chassis holes :rockin: front clip went on last night and doors rear glass and tailgate just a few bits and pieces left now which seem to take forever to get finished but hey that's why we love :suzuki: sj's

random photo me and dan_2k saw whilst collecting parts the other week.. on a A frame in m4 services  not advised kids  nice looking beach buggy style going on though
Image
Image

since then have been looking at finishing rear bumper, started with a quick sketch
Image

then after viewing several of other members plus google etc changed my mind a few times and have reached this so far..
can you guess what the round bits of bar are for?? scottie and dan_2k already know

resting on mounting plates on chassis(before i machined the second two pockets in it)
Image

Image

so now the pockets are machined in my lights will fit

the two outer pockets will house stop/tail/indicators the inner two will house fog and reverse lights

machined some flat plates up to mount bumper on (plates will bolt to chassis)
Image

next lot of pics should hopefully be of it welded and loosely bolted in place before painting

also had this made up
Image
i needed to swap the flanges over from 1 transfer box to another and couldn't stop them rotating whilst trying to undo the flange nut this solved the problem

well after several weeks of rain and general shite weather finally got back on to the truck this week. and voila rear bumper is finished!!! All i need to sort now is some resistors to get the indicators flashing at the right speed and then bolt it all on to the chassis. :pompom:

on with the :snap:

also fitted the battery and after a bit of persuasion it started and ran. Only issue is the white smoke its kicking out...? had the head off and replaced valve stem seals and all gaskets, and checked pistons and rings (they seemed ok to me but im not a mechanic so??) before i started on the bodywork so not sure what going on there.. hopefully just because its been sat for ages and not been driven.

on a side note dan_2k_uk is finally getting near the end with his bumper, would of been done today to have a side by side comparison but he ran out of welding wire.

In the mean time my postman has been rather busy delivering me various bits and pieces i seem to gathering ready for the next big change to it. Not gonna be unpacked for a while though as i have a mountain bike trip to the alps to contend with in 7 weeks (need to get some uplift days in on my downhill bike) and a house move on the cards (cant wait for a garage!!!).
