Photographs as promised. I have found out they are hella headlights. Found some that sold on ebay a day ago... GRRRR :argh:. It's also raining now so putting a hold on finishing the welding :argh: :argh:.

If anyone knows where I can get hold of some new ones that would be great.

I am thinking of putting the new headlight in the oven to separate the glass from the headlight and join it back together with some silicone stuff. Seen a guide on how to do this on the internet, so might give that a try.

Thanks,

Rob

Update - MOT

Well just booked the MOT for Friday 15:00, when it will inevitably fail after all the hard work that has been put into the darn thing.

Insurance will be purchased later on tonight to start on Friday morning. Then tax when it well... eventually passes. Expensive few days for me.

Head gasket has arrived so that's a job to start on Sunday, get the head Skimmed Monday and re-fit Tuesday before going on holiday on Wednesday.

Timing belt kit is ordered.

Next thing on the list is CB I think.

One successfully separated piece of glass from the headlight. Stick it in the oven on high for 20 mins comes off a treat :)

Well it failed.

Basically on the rear brake hose. Noticed it just before the MOT so thought I might as well try. 14 days free re-test so take that in after it is replaced and I am sorted.

They were really picky on one weld. patch was about half a meter so did not fully weld the end of it as it was more than 30cm away from the seat belt mount. So need to finish that weld (5 min job) and all is sorted.

On holiday as of next week so will order parts ready to have it on the road Monday 1st of August.

List of advisory's... Not as bad as I was expecting. Need to do the brake lines them selves at some point as they are in need, but will do that for next MOT. Front tyre and rear cross member (which i thought did not apply as it was not load bearing).

So all in all better than I was expecting.

For now just wondering which one of these to get...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Goodridge-Braid ... 711&sr=1-2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Goodridge-Braid ... 736&sr=1-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Only reason for using amazon is I get 10% discount using my NUS Extra card (making use of being a student).

Looking through the manual for part number at the moment.

Thanks,

Rob
