I'm gonna pull my starter off and see double check it's exactly the same as the one in my shed...
All of the bits off the valeo starters are interchangeable...

So if you grind/drill the rivets off, you can just bolt it straight together

I dont wan't to be responsable for you getting the wrong starter again. Heres a bit more info that might help. That part number is off the skinny starter im am using on my sj. I didn't buy it from new, i bought it from another member on here (parrot). He bought it from new, here is his post from difflock when he got it http://forum.difflock.com/viewtopic.php ... 78686098b1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. If you did decide to order this one it might be best to get them to measure it for you befor they send it. The diameter of the skinny ones are 3" and the fat ones are 3 1/4". Hope this helps in some way, and good luck with the search. I know i had a nightmare trying to get hold of mine.

Also here is a couple of pictures of mine. Sorry the part number is a bit blurry in the pic.

Just measured my old fat starter and it measures 3 1/4" not 4" like i said previously i just edited the above post to correct myself.

So just to confirm skinny starter 3"
Fat starter 3 1/4"

So only 1/4" differance between the 2.

Just so you know, there is someone on difflock who has a skinny starter and might not need it (philpy) ;)

Check out this thread on difflock
