The leak is probably where the distributor housing is bolted to the head. Have you checked the compression on the cylinders? Could be a valve or head gasket

No Mate have not checked wouldnt know how to. can get a 1.3 engine cheap localy so might have a go at that, but think I will have to move engine mounts

A compression test isn’t that hard to do, you will need a gauge and you can find a write up on line, a 410 is no different from any other motor.
And yeah you will need to move mounts. Have a look through the build section to find Scott’s build, it should have all you need to know. Edit, but he did put a 1.6 in sorry
