I don't think they're illegal? If they were illegal older cars that have to run them would be screwed. Its certainly not a good idea to run tubes inside tubeless tyres, but i might be wrong.

Tubeless tyres tend to be 'rougher' inside which can cause the tube to wear through also they aren't tested with tubes so the manufacturers won't guarantee the speed rating which may well make them illegal.

Can be easy to tell at the valve, personally I'm not sure I would risk on road use with tubes in tubeless tyres.

If you have a blowout (which I *think* tubes in tubeless tyres are prone to at speed) then the police are likely to take a closer look at your vehicle. I could be wrong, but I believe it's 3 points for running tubes, and as it technically invalidates your insurance, another 3 for driving without insurance.

If I were you, I'd sell those tyres to someone with an offroad only toy that gets trailered to/from PnP days, and get a new set for the wee beastie.

Not trying to be a pedant or a killjoy, just don't wanna see you get in trouble!

It is not illegal to fit a tube in a tubeless tyre.
