Nice to see you cracking on with another machine - are you sure you have enough zuks yet?

It's tidy, but I want it very tidy ;)

Had a couple of hours today so got most of the rear floor welded up, ended up cutting out 2 300x40mm sections to remove most of the rust, mostly just doing the MOT welding at the moment, once it's on the road I'll pick away at all the little bits of rust that might be forming elsewhere

I'm still jealous that you got this Scott! Maybe when it's up for sale next time I may have the cash!

Had a mate pop over this evening for a little patch of welding but managed to squeeze in a little bit of work on the sammy, mostly removing rust.

Yes there's a few areas that need attention but for a sammy its pretty good

Hopefully got a nice new black soft top coming for it as well :doublethumbs:

Usual rust spots and not too bad by the looks of it. I like this zook a lot.

Search for rust and you shall find it  just goes to show how good they can look....until you remove the arch mounts

Image

Then I hit the inner arch with a wire wheel

Image

So I got cutting, I left the brace in place to keep the outer panel in place. I've decided to do a semi virtual lift, just to make it easier to repair and to get rid of all the rust, the arch mounts will be remounted in the original position though, but with rivnuts so they can be removed/raised if you want to run 31s, will keep it looking standard but get rid of all the mud traps.

Image

Also made a repair panel for the corner of the boot with 2mm as it no longer had the dimple for strength

Image

All in all I'm doing more work than I wanted but at least it will be solid. If anyone is interested I'm going to have to sell it when it's MOT'd, should be finished in a few weeks.

Slowly getting there, it's had a few small patches on the inner sills and one arch is almost finished.

Image
Ignore the random small plate at the rear, that's just tacked there to hold the panel in the correct position while I do the arch.

Removed the interior and went hunting..........

Found some!!

Kinda wish I didn't have to sell this one  has the potential to be a lovely little SJ.

More welding

mini VL finished on the passenger side and Body mount repaired
Image

Then started work inside
Image

One tiny hole that turned into a slightly larger one, I hate the way they have 3 layers of panels in places, always turns into a rust trap, but I'm replacing each layer anyway
