Does anyone know if it's legal to modify wheel arches (i.e. cut them to enlarge them)

Lots of people on here have done to allow the fitting of larger diameter tyres. As long as the arch covers the width of the tread you will be okay.
Have a look through the many pictures on here for inspiration. I have used LR Defender +2" arches, some use conveyor belt, some use thin sheet steel with an edging fitted to remove the sharp edge (The sharp edge would fail an MOT).

Cheers Ladaman, makes things clearer, don't know of anyone with an old set of arches for sale do you, or a bikini roof/full crappy roof that i can cut about ?
