5 SPEED DONE AND DUSTED!

found a way of doing it without changing to the shorter prop as well ;)

it all went well until we put the prop on that goes from the gear box the tbox. from what I can figure, in the 5 speed the shaft that the prop slides into has less clearance on the outer diameter. so the prop from the 4 speed will only go so far before it gets stuck and doesn't go the whole way into the rear of the gbox.

had to remove some of the excess metal from the prop where it slides into the gearbox, thus making it slide all the way down onto the spline and fit nicely.

so all is well, gearbox is noisy as ya like but hey ho. if it wasn't for the noise then it would be like driving with a new box fitted so im happy

no pics as I completely forgot to take any, sorry lads.

fwhs next followed by the upgraded alternator. but now its time for more beer and some Chinese grub

yeah I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do anything with the prop bit as soon as we figured out the problem it was fairly easy to sort

had to use a new clutch kit in the end so its the syncro. to be honest dude, the price i paid for it i cant complain, still goes into gear just fine and without crunching. ill chuck a couple of moly slips in there as that should help protect it. ;)

besides there was no way you coulda known it was noisy as it was one that was bein broken so no worries dude

Why'd you have to use a new clutch in the end?

idiot coworkers! Basically I cover different branches of jayar car parts in the new forest area. I was at Ringwood yesterday when the box arrived. one of the guys took it apon himself to clean the parts for me, even though o rold him to leave it all alone.

HE SOAKED THE WHOLE CLUTCH IN HYPER CLEAN FOR HALF HOUR!!! :argh: :argh: :argh:

I nearly killed him as he even put the friction plate in. so one fucked clutch later a new blueprint one was ordered

forgive my ignorance, but what did that do to the clutch and friction plate?
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out
