Beware the wiring kit for dummies - its for dummies that haven't checked the wiring diagram! The Vitara is switched on the ground side so you will need to wire it differently.

Think I'll move these to the front bumper...hoping to get that all made up by tomorrow.

And NO they are not KC Daylighters, I just made some fake stickers for the covers! This is the no dosh Vitara revamp, they were free, had to buy new bulbs though, dammit!

Ha ha, I love your budget KCs, it may be the no dosh vitara revamp but do you care to think about what it's cost so far?

Having a think about that.

The Vit was £500 with a years MOT.

Used tyres and wheels £40 from Andy but I sold them for £40. Kept the wheels.

New tyres £400 with fitting.

Stereo £50.

New water pump and rad and hoses about £100.

Soft top roof £25.

Roll cage £10.

All the bits that have been fabricated for it were either done by me, so free, or by my mate Stu, for work in exchange...welding etc.

Seats, yet to go in £14.

New steering wheel £25.

New light switch £25.

Cherry bomb £30.

Pro Comp (NOT) shocks £38.

Clutch return arm £12.

Rocker box gasket £4.

Oil and filter, plugs leads etc £45.

So with all that added up it comes to £1128. That includes the purchase price!

Not bad for 3 years of ownership and the way she has been slowly, but cheaply transformed.

Still loads more to do...bumpers, lift it about 3 inches, fatter rubber on wider rims (I already have those).

All in all I'm very happy with her. A bloke last week saw the Vit parked up whilst I was having coffee with a friend and offered me £1750 for it. I was very tempted but it is my only car and the only reason I'd sell it is to get another SJ (I miss my old one SO much). So I need an SJ ready to buy before I sell the Vit.

ps the winch was £30 and the snorkel £40 so it's £1198!

That is cheap. I'm into mine slightly more than that.

My Vit might be the most expensive, I bought it new so that was £9K before mods. The flip side is that have had it 14 years now.
