Re: Coiled turqoise samurai soon to be 16v
When I did my 8v all the lights and that where in the engine loom to I think. I just pulled all the non engine crap out and found the positives and negatives I needed?

Nice! I do love a 16v swap! The wiring isn’t too bad really, stripping down the loom is time consuming and messy though, you will have old tape glue all over your hands

To be honest I quite like doing things like that because if you do a good job you can make it look as good as factory and neat.
Once Vitara has it's new front end done I'll be making a start.
So I got sidetracked tracked a little bit and bought some seats, I have been holding off as I don't want to stray too far from factory
(yes I know) but after a few do I don't I moments I took the plunge and bought some Celica seats. Tried to get as close colour match as possible. Only fit the driver's seat so far but the difference in comfort is so much better.
So the drivers seat, bent the front tabs down and they almost line up with the factory bolt holes, rear left bolts into the original seat belt hole and rear right just wants a tab welding onto the runner to hit the original hole. Crazy how easy it was to fit. Passenger seat will take some inventing to keep it same height.

Nice therapeutic evening and the wiring is separated. I haven't bothered tidying it up and taping it until iv had it in the engine bay, that way I can shorten wires as needed and make it as close to OEM as possible
Re: Coiled turqoise samurai soon to be 16v
So much unnecessary wires out the road
