It looks like its actually a twin choke, I think I've found the correct FSM:

Okay, cool, will have a look in a bit.
Fitted up the inlet and carb properly today, and also plumed in the rad. I've just put the pipes on where they will fit, and I will move them around as and when I need to.
Cranked the engine over today, turns nice and freely, but can not get a spark, I think it's the HT leads, but not sure. The coil is getting quite hot while ign is on.
I need a list of what wiring is for what. Not really a wiring diagram, as it'd be no good as I'm fitting the wrong engine into the truck.
One example is the fact the thing still has a reg/rec on the N/S wing, but the alternator has a reg/rec built in.
The coil has 2 terminals, are these simply a switched live, and an earth? Or is there more to it than that?
My Dizzy has a plug with 2 wires coming from it, is this an electric advance or something?
Alternator has a main terminal, which is for the battery, but it has 3 spade connectors too. I can't understand why 3? Usually they just have 1 or 2.
It's just really messy under the bonnet with 30 years of bodged wiring etc. I'd like to cut it all out and freshen up the loom. There are plugs all over this new engine, haha!

coil should be fed a supply through a resistor, with a backfeed through a diode, coming from the starter solenoid. if you don't have the resistor, it will definitely get hot, as it will be drawing too much current

Right, okay, will have a look around tomorrow.
There is what looks like a suppressor bolted to the bracket but the wiring has had so many repairs over the years I cant work out what goes to, or comes from what.

Have you got the coil from the swift.
I don't think the 410 one will be suitable with the swift electronic ignition.
Can you tell me the wire colours from the distributor.

Got it running today.
Wired it up a bit like the vitara conversion (I think).
Black/white-trace from dizzy to + coil
Brown wire from dizzy to - coil
Got it firing, but all wrong, and back firing etc.
Moved all the HT leads around by 2, and it fired up straight away, but would not rev up what so ever.
So cracked the dizzy, and rotated it forwards and backwards, and eventually go it running quite nice when on the power, but it WILL NOT idle.
Fuel stop solenoid is powered up, but all the vacc and breather hoses are on wrong I think. Need to sit down and work out exactly what needs to be plugged into what.
But the engine lives. Filled the thing up with water so I could give it some throttle, and it'll rev right up, very smoothly, so I'm chuffed with that!

Glad you sorted the ignition.
Those hoses are a pain I can find next to sod all info on them.
Would it be easier to use the alternator off the 410 to keep things simple.
If not I have looked through the 410 manual and believe how the new one should be connected.
Quite a few suzuki alternators have a 3 spade connector but only 2 wires do anything, one to the dash warning light and one from the ignition switch (12v feed).
Take a pic or three of the alternator and we may be able to identify it's connections.

Does the distributor have a vacuum advance? if so is it advancing or retarding?
