Is the old axle completely knackered?
Not just leave that one in for now?

Needs a diff and a wheel bearing and I have no money for a wheel bearing until the end of the month. Would rather just fit the new axle instead of doing the bearing and then swapping the axle out anyway a week later.Jordi wrote:Is the old axle completely knackered?

Diff isn't too bad, I have a good front that I can swap the sidegears in to make it a rear.

Usual last minute panics.
Gear box oil seal to do. I have however bought a pop up tent. An eye watering £15. Gonna give it a whirl. Sure it'll be fine for the odd nights camping.

Well I've got a few evenings in the workshop needed to get my SJ sorted in time, there's currently no rear axle fitted
New plan for Saturday night if people are up for it? There's a village near me called box and they have a yearly evening called the box pig 'n' jig basically, live music on the village green, cider beer and pig!
Thinking we could camp at the campsite around the corner from it and head out on Sunday nursing hangovers
