the last problem ive got with chassis is the fuel tank,

not quite sure what to do with the petrol tank, the thing is looking quite past it, bit rotten, pipes look and feel like thay are going to snap,

not sure weather to get it repaired by some one (dont want to blow myself up)

or build a new one.

any ideas.

looking nice.

where are you moving the tank too?

It's got to go towards the back of the chassis. Its the Only place it can go.

I was a bit disappointed I had to move it. But that's the only place the ram could go to get the right angle. Any where else and there was a good possibility the prop or axle would hit the bracket.

Im just on the lookout for a decent normal sj tank. The filler is in a different place and would be better.

what a difference that bush and bolt kit has made to the stick, even tho i never drove it, by just fiddling with it before and after you can tell.

also finished one hub knuckle thing, got the free wheel hub working. all done. other sides in bits now. i did use the original curved holding plates cos they felt stronger than the ones in the kit.
one side done.

great effort on that gearbox. :smokin:

what did you clean it with. I've got some decent de-greaser but it would need a shed load to do that!

some gunk degreaser stuff spray can, very good stuff.

got it as good as i could with a wire brush then cleaned a bit more and sprayed it the same as the engine so it looks the same. you can see it before i cleaned it in the last pic. lol i was stinking.

Not a very productive night, cleaned loads of bit up ready for paint, then spent ages looking for a ball bearing out of the locking hub my dad dropped, gave up on it, decided to make some thing to fit, dropped that and found the ball instead lol.

Then finished the last hub off, and sods law the bearing I didn't change cos I thought it was good feels rough as. So I'll have to get some more bearings and have it all apart again, never mind.
