think i got a 80 or 90 amp vit one... i just fitted it, and it lines up ok pulley wise but the plug is obviously different. I am hoping i can cut the wiring and bodge it with spade connectors for time being
if in doubt, FLAT OUT!

thats what I'm hoping to do with thos spare disco one, gonna use the 200tdi one tho as its already got a v belt pulley attached. just gotta figure out the wires in rrlation to the disco alternator and attach said spade terminals.

For the vit alternator with the round plug you need two ring connectors for the two fat alternator wires (usually white w/ yellow tracer) and they go onto the terminal on the back or side of the alternator...trotter wrote:think i got a 80 or 90 amp vit one... i just fitted it, and it lines up ok pulley wise but the plug is obviously different. Then a spade connector for the small wire, connect it to one of the pins in the back of the alt.
You'll know its the right one if the dashboard battery light comes on with the ignition
