Here are a few pics of my steering set up, I presume that is a Z bar under there, (you'll have to forgive me for all my questions, if it gets too much just tell me where to go ), don't know if I'm keen on this spring over axle business, (the springs themselves look a bit worn out, can you get 5 leaf springs for these?), does it look ok or should I go with a different set up do you think, (& if so what alternatives are there)......there is no steering damper either.

If it was my truck id be going back to spring under.

Your running shackle reverse too and the springs look pretty knackered.
I could be wrong but it looks like the steering arm has been straightened.

If you can id say go to spring under axle also i would lengthen your brake pipes as soon as they look pretty tight at fall suspension drop that will snap and might end nasty.

Yeh gonna get some flexi pipes.......I reckon springs under axles as you both say, so I'll need new springs, shackles, u-bolts etc., then how do I go about getting the car sitting as high up as it is now?, longer shocks, body lift?

yep you got it pretty much and you can get lift springs etc to help out once its on spua

The shackle reverse will give roughly two inch of lift.
With better springs up front it may raise another inch.

The shocks have been relocated. The mounts are normally on the u bolt plates

What's your sort of budget on the mods for the car? Can you weld

Shackle reverse?........only got about £5-600 left to spend now and there's a few things to do, a mate here on the farm does all the welding for me,(for a price of course).

Basically someone has chopped the spring mounts of the front and mounted them at the
Back. Its supposed to make the springs work better.

If you know a dab hand welder look into doing rears up front.

Shackle at the front as standard

Shackle reversal is kit that bolts towers at the front where the original shackles were,, then the springs are reversed so the front is now the rear,which is then mounted to a new mount bolted to the original mount on the chassis.
